Thornaby Cricket Club

Thornaby Cricket Club is an established, historic club, situated on Acklam Road, Thornaby. Founded in 1896, the club has not only established itself in Thornaby, as the major sporting establishment, but is renowned and respected across the North East in sporting and in particular cricketing circles.

The Club have regained English Cricket Board Clubmark Accreditation status, a prestigious, nationally accepted accreditation. Cricket Clubs are required to present evidence and demonstrate implementation across four different themes, culminating in the production of a Club Development Plan, and demonstrating the commitment to safe guard children when enjoying sport.

Thornaby Cricket Club gained promotion last season and our 1st Team will now compete in the 2018 Premier League, we also have second and third XIs Teams, plus under 17s, under 15s, under 13s, under 11s, as well as a well established and competitive Midweek Team.

Our current coaching staff include Stephen Wells, Zaffa Sultan, Danny Burns and Richard Heywood. Additional coaching staff are currently undergoing their training.
The 2018 Season price for junior members is just £20 a year and a very reasonable £60 for seniors.  

The Club are continuing to support the mid-week cricket team and invite any player of any ability to sign up for the upcoming season. Please contact if you are interested.

During closed season the main Clubhouse toilets have been fully refurbished and we are proud to announce that a new disabled toilet facility has also been installed. Disabled access to the main Clubhouse is an ongoing project which will be completed for the start of the 2018 season. Our fully refurbished Tea Room / Function Room (The Norman Toulson Suite) continues to grow in popularity, offering all members of the community a place to host their celebrations or events. Details regarding further development plans are available upon request.  Senior Nets take place at home from 6pm - 8pm on a Wednesday, Junior Nets take place at home from 6pm - 8pm on a Friday.
