Thornaby Cricket Club is an established, historic club, situated on Acklam Road, Thornaby. Founded in 1896, the club has not only established itself in Thornaby, as the major sporting establishment, but is renowned and respected across the North East in sporting and in particular cricketing circles.
We have been awarded ‘English Cricket Board: Clubmark’ status, a prestigious, nationally accepted accreditation. Cricket clubs are required to present evidence and demonstrate implementation across four different themes, culminating in the production of a Club Development Plan, and demonstrating the commitment to safe guard children when enjoying sport.
We currently field three adult teams on a weekend, in the North Yorkshire South Durham (NYSD) cricket structure, which arguably provides the highest standard of amateur cricket in the country. In addition to this we field a total of 4 junior teams across all age categories, under 11’s, under 13’s, under 15’s and under 17’s.
As a club, we have excellent facilities including a superb bar with WiFi, which is open 7 days a week, and a function room, which can cater for up to 100 people (Awarded 5 Stars by Stockton Borough Council). We pride ourselves on being a family club, with good values, providing a safe and healthy environment, for young and old alike.
